REaCT: Raising Equality and Cultural Tolerance

REaCT is an Erasmus+ project that aims to improve and enrich teaching tools in adult education for trainers and staff working with adults, to promote voluntary activities for the benefit of migrants, to foster active citizenship and communication by initiating intercultural activities.

In order to change mind-set and attitudes of European citizens we need to start the intercultural education from adults as they are the ones that create and influence mind-set and attitudes of their children. Development of tolerant and open society depends on example given and passed from adults to children. To reach these objectives REaCT is gathering innovative teaching methods that will be available in a Training Pack accessible online, ready to be implemented and used by adult training centres across Europe.

Kick off meeting – Krakow, January 2018

The first meeting of the REaCT project took place in Krakow on January 30th to 31st 2018. The first day of the meeting took place in the Citizens' Centre. During the meeting the partners visited the Islamic Centre in Krakow and became acquainted with the centre's challenges and activities. On the second day of the meeting we visited the JCC (Jewish Community Centre in Krakow). We were introduced to the deputy director, Mr. Sebastian, who briefly spoke about the history of Jews in Poland and about the history of the foundation of the JCC, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
