The objective of Project SUNtool is to develop an environmental modelling tool that enables planners to identify the site configuration, building façade design and combination of renewable and low energy technologies that minimises net energy and water consumption and waste production, at the community scale.
Renewable energies create significant employment in education, R&D, consultancy, engineering, agriculture, finance and government. The sector net employment growth is expected to be 1,660,000 by 2010 with a total of 2,463,000 new jobs by 2020. The current and future shortage of skilled personnel in renewable energy-related occupations is a major obstacle to the success of RES development.
RECODRIVE is taking up existing Ecodriving initiatives and merging it with good fleet management and logistics optimization practice to push fuel saving in fleets beyond 10%. Commercial (i.e. freight and utilities) and captive (i.e. public transport) fleets from partners and associated entities have acted as demonstrators and show cases for high mileage and/or high specific consumption fleets. Energy conservation champions have been trained to penetrate the procurement departments specifying vehicles, drivers applying ECODRIVING and workshop employees servicing vehicles (tire pressure, air and fuel filter etc.).
Renewable energy plants for various reasons are of major interest and importance to EU countries. EARTHCARE project proposes the identification and analysis of future occupations related to the sector in order to produce job profiles/ standards and develop training curricula and support training package for counsellors/ advisors. This has been achieved through close co-operation and exchange of experiences between consultancy /training providers, renewable energy experts and labour market information providers.
This project developed a training programme and adapted it to an e-learning platform that it has been tested in different training pilot projects. This tool provides Simulations of Interactive Virtual Reality to train the most critical operations in maintenance of wind mills regarding safety, budget and relevance.
Practical e-learning platform about environmental and energy efficiency issues aimed to the SMEs of the European agroindustrial sector.
The main object is to transfer the created dissemination and awareness materials and previous projects in environmental issues by the partners involved in the project to an innovative and comprehensive training plan with a pedagogical methodology. It will include procedures, modules and materials capable of giving managers of SMEs, European skills and competencies required for the implementation of procedures related to environmental issues.
The project aims at improving energy efficiency in buildings alleviating the lack of knowledge of entrepreneurs and managers of the building industry. Specific objective will be to set up new methodologies and build up training modules in European standards concerning energy efficiency in buildings.
