IDEC participates in several transnational projects itself and provides consulting services to a considerable 
number of companies and organisations that want to internationalise their activities.

6th Framework Programme

UPDATE - UPDATE stands for Understanding and Providing a Developmental Approach to Technology Education.
Aim of the programme is to improve science and technology teaching in Europe in order to appeal young people to technology,
especially girls. New learning material and methods shall result from the project which is focussing three age-groups mainly:
early childhood, elementary school (age 6 to 12) and general education (age 13-18)

NAUTICA EUROPA- A European Integrated System for Services Management of Leisure Boating and Nautical 
Tourism: Development of regional networks for local markets. Such services system can foster the nautical world 
to enter in the so-called "global society" addressing to entreprises, consumers and associations.

VICENT- Virtual Centre for Business Development and Innovation: Development of on-line services providing 
Information and Resources, Business Creation Support, Business School and Business Co-operation opportunities.

CertiVeR- Certificate Validation and Revocation Service: Creation of a secure central repository for Certificate 
Revocation information, aiming at reduced delay in delivering revocation information and greater security in the 
electronic signature verification.

IST

WebSET- Web-based Standard Education Tools: Development of advanced Web-based technologies to implement 
innovative cost-effective learning tools.

SILK-System Integration via Logic & Knowledge: Development of a knowledge management tool-set for software 
systems integration tasks.

e-Living- Life in a Digital Europe: Large-scale comparative panel study for the description and explanation of the 
behaviour relating to the uptake and usage of information and communications technology (ICT) at the domestic level.

e-BSAN- e-Business Service Accounting Network: Creation of a virtual and global community for e-consulting services 
for SMEs and public sector.

EduCAT- Education Content Assembly Tool: Testbed of a new, innovative, multimedia toolset by educators who will 
evaluate the functionality, acceptability and usability of the toolset by using it to produce interactive education software.

EESD

PREDAC (European Action For Renewable Energies) is a project which aims at promoting local development of 
renewable energies
and energy efficiency in Europe.

Intelligent Energy Europe

RES COMPASS - The RES Compass is financed by the program “Intelligent Energy Europe of the European Union”. The desired final
outcome of the program is the development of an on-line resource and tool for school and university graduates considering a career in
Renewable Energy. The on-line tool will offer to the users a career profile and the related training offers in EU-27 per profile for people
interested working in the RES sector.

RECODRIVE - Rewarding and Recognition Schemes for Energy COnserving DRIving, VEhicle procurement and maintenance.

Life-long Learning Programme

EUROSEA project aims to elaborate a European Reference of the qualifications existing in the fish and seafood cannery sector,
in order to compare the vocational training related to the sector among the participating countries.

E-DECOM - The program will support innovative training methodologies in casting, providing flexible and adaptive conditions for workers

SPAT - Stress Prevention Activities Training

NO_Stress - Stress Prevention Methodologies and Risk Assessment and prevention of work-related stress and training related contents
This project main idea is to use the results of SPA "Stress Prevention Activities" Project and a Risk Assessment tool called WEST
"Work Environment Screening Tool", combine them and put it in a more friendly environment, via web, for all type of learners and mainly
VET students.

LLL-DRIVER - LIFELONG LEARNING FOR DRIVERS TO IMPROVE ROAD SAFETY AND SERVICE QUALITY BY E-LEARNING
AND PRACTICAL TRAINING

MIGRANTS+ aims at training trainers, mediators and support staff on how to assess basic skills and competences of adult emigrants
and their learning needs by using a software tool and also at developing lifelong learning opportunities for adult migrants.

The scope of E-DECOM project is to promote the development of e-learning innovative contents and to support training

3D-Biolab - Development of e-learning contents with 3D simulations for biology learning and teaching.

e-WindTech - e-WindTech aims to develop a training tool for wind mills maintenance technicians. This tool will
provide simulations of interactive virtual reality to train the technicians on the most critical operations in maintenance
of wind turbines.

Leonardo Da Vinci

SLET - SMEs often see growing internationalization of business as a risk but there are also excellent opportunities to reach new
markets with goods and services through electronic tendering and procurement.

The AVALNET project conceives, delivers and transfers innovative products in the field of assessment, evaluation and ROI (return on
investment) for training, with a view to improve the quality of VET systems and practices throughout Europe.

INTERPRES project: professional development of cultural and linguistic mediators

Consult in Europe - This project intends to develop innovative tools for the integration of senior workers in the consulting sector.

i-Lab Development Partnership - The project aims to increase the uses of i-labs by developing new and broader applications
for them, as well as identifying occupational standards and training for facilitators.

EGMDSS E-learning system project. An easy way to reach the knowledge of VHF GMDSS system and prepare for the SRC

INTERLOG2- Development of transportation and logistics training material.

MODULAR COURSES ON MODERN SENSORS- Development of training modules in printed and multimedia version on 
modern sensors.

eEduser - Efficient e-learning network services establishment for education without borders.

INNO-START- The usage of flexible working forms such as tele-service and tele-cooperation on the basis of IT
networks allows the delivery of the service internationally. Thus the SME gain  the opportunity to develop European 
partnerships and meet therefore the challenges of the globalization and increasing competition.

SPIDERWEB - The SPIDERWEB project offers a holistic approach in identifying the dropout population, analyse their 
individual needs and conduct a support and prevention program.

QUALITY ON WEB - The project was developed by a consortium of European organizations, in order to produce an 
e-learning tool in the field of Quality Management. The target group for this method is managers of SMS’s that may 
face to some difficulties understanding the strict terminology and requirements of the ISO 9001 standard.

KNOWMAKERS - Knowledge Management is evolving as the key and value-creating element in the generation and
implementation of innovation in organisations with a business or business support nature. Not only the capability of
developing new ideas is relevant, but also the capability of optimising the acquired or developed knowledge, and promoting
its joint use.

INSTRUCTOR FOR DRIVING

SAFE-DOCK - The aim of the project SAFE-DOCK it is a creation of a training tool for labour risks prevention among seaport 
dockworkers, which will assure the continuous professional training in the field of labour safety, whose basic element will be 
New Technologies of the Information Society.

ROI - Return on Investment in Training (under Leonardo da Vinci P/02/B/F/PP-125502)
Project duration:
24 months
Staring date: November 1st, 2002 Ending date: November 1st, 2004.
Promoter: CECOA – Vocational Training Centre for Trade and Service Activities, Portugal.
Partnership: the project benefits of a wide network of 11 partners from Portugal, Finland, Czech Republic, Greece, Bulgaria,
Austria and Romania.
General Objectives: to conceive and develop a methodology and a set of tools allowing training providers, companies (namely
SME’s) and other stakeholders to evaluate the return (skills, performance, turnover, organization structure) on training investment.
Specific Objectives: to build a tool to calculate the connection between cost/profit of any training programme; to define a frame
for the evaluation model according to the project objectives and well adapted to each country reality.

EUROCULVALUES - The “TRAINING METHODOLOGY OF EUROPEAN CROSS-CULTURAL BUSINESS VALUES” is a
Leonardo Project that aims to form the conceptual model of European business’ cultural values and prepare the methodology of
vocational training of cultural values that are adequate to common European trade environment in the enterprises.

ALIQUAL - The project ALIQUAL aims to freshen up existing knowledge and help the acquisition of new knowledge, especially
in small und very small businesses. It is aimed that this regulation isn't perceived as an additional compulsion but can be seen to
be used as a competitive advantage and quality characteristic.

M.E.N.S. project (Managing Enterprise Networks) tries to guide to European SMEs in this change process towards new economy,
responding to the current needs of Organizations. This project is financed by the European Programme “Leonardo Da Vinci”, created
by EU in order to promote a European space in the education and vocational training area.

VSMlite combines the principles of Lean with project management to deliver a tool for continuous improvement in an easy to use
web based application.
VSMlite focuses on optimising the management of Value Streams in an organisation. The application allows users to assess their
organisation’s “Leanness”, develop current and future Value Stream Maps, identify improvement activities, generate implementation
plans and manage these plans across the organisation. This is facilitated throughout through the use of wizards.

YET - There is a growing number of young people who obtain higher education qualifications, but remain unemployed or inactive as
far the labour market is concerned which may have an adverse impact on the society. The YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS’ TRAINING
(YET) PROGRAMME/SYSTEM will help these young people with a degree to assess their skills, competences, attitudes, personality
features, motivation, etc.

DEFEMINISATION OF POVERTY - The objective of the Project, “Defeminization of Poverty”, is to develop a blended training program
incorporating on-line and in-class training material, suitable for literate but in most cases educationally deficient small entrepreneurs
and candidate entrepreneurs, aiming to reach primarily women (%75 Women, %25 Men).
