Programme of Work

 

The project is divided into a number of work-packages, which have been designed as inter-related units that build upon each other, facilitating seamless progress towards project outcomes  

 

WORK PACKAGE 1

To map the existing socio-demographic profile of the European steel industry with particular reference to gender, generation and ethnicity/migration and to identify the learning needs of the European steel industry with particular reference to equality and diversity issues.  

WORK PACKAGE 2   

To identify the training needs of the target groups – with particular reference to mainstreaming equality and diversity measures – and examine how training is organised by company and country to meet these perceived needs, from trainers, employers and employees.  

 WORK PACKAGE 3

To develop and pilot pan-European on-line teaching material aimed at providing value added equality and diversity material to existing training modules in the steel industry.  

WORK PACKAGE 4  

To develop, pilot and evaluate the tutor guidance handbook.  

WORK PACKAGE 5  

To develop briefing papers for presentation to all stakeholders. The work will result in briefing papers that present data analysis and recommendations for development and improvement in the provision of new and transferable skills for the target groups as well as the outline of equal opportunity policies for such target groups.  

WORK PACKAGE 6  

To disseminate the results and examples of good practice as well as presenting the briefing papers to relevant stakeholders in the European steel and metals industry.
